Deception Pass, WA

Gossamer jade, too fine to wear,
Too worn to find, like fairy's wings
So intricate, so beautiful but not a use.

So unknown, hidden in the myths of old,
Loved by men who's worth is told
Loved but never held by men.

Shadows slink across the grass, what once
Was gold in sunlight grows a mossy dim
And cold: so beautiful but not a use.

What is rare is never known; thus it is it
Seems the more, but can be had is scorned,
And lore is prized where life is spilt.

Why do men take fairy wings, and fozzy
Legs of damask fine, when what they are is
All they are? So beautiful but not a use.
